Alexa Chung For Lacoste

Alexa ChungFormer model has become the latest face of Lacoste.

The TV presenter is to front a new campaign for the sportswear brand’s new female fragrance, which is set to be launched next January. The adverts will be the first of Lacoste’s to feature a female celebrity face, and sources believe Alexa will do the brand justice.

“Alexa will be perfect in the role and will bring a new audience to the Lacoste product,” a source said.

The 26-year-old beauty is in huge demand in the fashion world at the moment and currently fronts Pepe Jean’s Spring/Summer 2010 campaign as well as having a Mulberry bag named after her. In February, Alexa also launched her debut clothing collection for store Madewell.

“Madewell’s vision is kind of the same as mine. They like laid back styles, they like kind of relaxed clothes - classic, timeless things. So when they asked to collaborate, it was a perfect fit,” she said, commenting on the designs.
The collection had a heavy 60s influence with tea dresses, denim, high waisted skirts and velvet. She also insisted on bringing some British style to the assortment with the pairing of socks and sandals.

One fashion insider said, “Big cat T-shirts are a continuation of winter’s leopard print trend. They’re the micro-trend of the moment and make you look really confident. They also look great with all the big summer looks, like denim shorts and leggings.”

Another look set to take off is tribal prints, with Nicola Roberts, Naomi Campbell and all wearing them recently. In order to pull-off the look, wearers must be quite bold with their choices and not worry about being perfectly matching.

Alexa ChungFormer model-turned-entertainer Alexa Chung is returning to her humble beginnings, collaborating with clothing store J. Crew.

The British TV presenter will be working with the chain retailers to create her own fashion range, which will be inspired by her personal style. Alexa, 26, said, “I was being offered so many collaborations for a long time, but I held off. I thought it was quite a ‘sellout’ thing to do.”

The brand’s chairman Millard Drexler, however, claimed Alexa would be more than just a spokesperson: “There is no grand scheme to this, and we still don’t want to hire a celebrity spokesperson. It’s just that Alexa is totally cool. It’s not the way she looks or dresses. It’s the way she is.”

The range will include dungaree dresses, high-waisted skinny jeans, polka dot tea dresses and oversized wool jackets, mimicking her own wardrobe. Alexa is no stranger to the fashion industry, having previously walked the catwalk for and modeled for DKNY and British chain New Look.

In 2009, Alexa was named the most stylish woman of the year by , beating French actress Audrey Tautou and Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker to the top spot.
